Shipping and returns policy
Note — unofficial translation. This English version is provided for convenience only. The legally binding version of this document is the Spanish one, available at /legal/envios-y-devoluciones. In the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish text shall prevail.
This page details the shipping conditions for orders placed on jamongourmet.es, as well as the cases in which a return of products is possible. Because of the food and perishable nature of the products, the returns policy is necessarily restrictive, without prejudice to the extra commercial commitment assumed by the house of Hernández Jiménez.
Shipping zones and rates
Carriage is not included in the product price and is calculated automatically at checkout according to the order’s weight and the destination. Current rates:
- Spain (mainland and Balearics): €10.
- Portugal: €10.
- Spain (Canary Islands): €59. Customs procedures and possible taxes and duties payable by the recipient.
- Spain (Ceuta and Melilla): €20. Customs procedures payable by the recipient.
- Pickup in person in Guijuelo: free. Prior coordination by email at info@jamongourmet.es.
- International (European Union and other countries, times of up to 5 working days except the United Kingdom): Germany €29, Andorra €15, Austria €35, Belgium €33, Denmark €45, Slovakia €45, Estonia €65, Finland €40, France €29, Gibraltar €40, Ireland €35, Italy €30, Latvia €55, Lithuania €65, Luxembourg €30, Norway €40, Netherlands €30, Poland €47, United Kingdom €45, Czech Republic €45, Romania €45, Switzerland €50. Argentina and other destinations not listed: enquire beforehand at info@jamongourmet.es.
Free shipping
Free shipping on orders over €99 (VAT not included) for the destinations mainland Spain, the Balearics and Portugal. The other destinations keep their rate according to the table above regardless of the order amount.
Delivery times
Times are estimates, not contractual commitments, and vary depending on the time the order is received and the carrier’s load. They are counted from when the order leaves the factory:
- Mainland Spain and the Balearics: 1–3 working days.
- Portugal: 1–3 working days.
- Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla: subject to the customs procedure time.
- Rest of the European Union and other international destinations: up to 5 working days.
- United Kingdom: 7–12 days depending on customs clearance.
Orders with slicing or deboning may add a preparation margin before dispatch.
When we dispatch
Orders are dispatched on working days. Those received from Thursday at 16:00 are shipped the following Monday, so they don’t sit idle in the carrier’s warehouses over the weekend. If the customer specifically needs Friday shipping, they must indicate it in the order.
Packaging types
All orders are prepared with packaging specific to food products:
- Large pieces (whole hams and shoulders): a reinforced box with insulating material that protects the product during transport and maintains its conditions.
- Sliced product: vacuum bags that prolong preservation and maintain the sensory characteristics until opening.
- Mixed orders: a combination of the above packaging in a single adapted box.
How to track my order
On dispatching the order, the customer will receive an email with the tracking number and the link to the tracking system of the assigned courier company. From that moment they will be able to know the shipment’s location in real time.
If I’m not home on delivery
In the event of absence on the first delivery, the courier company will make a second attempt the next working day. If that is not possible either, the parcel may be made available for collection at the courier office for a set period.
If any incident arises, contact info@jamongourmet.es as soon as possible to coordinate delivery.
Returns policy
Important: because of the food and perishable nature of the product, returns are not accepted except in the cases expressly provided for below.
Returns will be accepted only in the following cases:
- A verified product defect: when there is an alteration of the product attributable to the seller, evidenced with photographs of the product, label and packaging.
- A shipping error: when the product received is different from the one ordered.
- Transport damage: when the outer packaging arrives damaged. In this case, it is essential to record the damage at the moment of receipt and to have it reflected on the carrier’s delivery note. Without that record, the incident is difficult to substantiate even if the piece is affected.
Deadline and procedure
- The order is considered delivered when the carrier’s receipt is signed. The customer has 7 days from the date of receipt to report any incident.
- Notify the incident by email or form stating the order number, photographs and a detailed description, to info@jamongourmet.es.
- Once the incident has been verified, the following will be carried out, at the customer’s choice:
- A full refund of the amount of the affected product, or
- Replacement of the product at no additional cost.
To process a return, the product must retain at least 80% of its original weight. Shipping costs are non-refundable except in cases of defective product or incorrect shipment, in which case all costs are covered by Hernández Jiménez.
Cancellations before shipping
If the order has not yet been dispatched, it can be cancelled at no cost by contacting customer service as soon as possible by email or telephone. Once dispatched, cancellation will not be possible.
100% Hernández Jiménez commitment
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you have 7 days from the date of receipt to request a return, with no need to give a reason.
To process a return, the product must retain at least 80% of its original weight.
Once the goods have been received and verified, we will proceed, at your choice, to:
- A full refund of the product amount, processed within a maximum of 2 working days, or
- Replacement of the product at no additional cost.
For returns due to a change of mind, return shipping costs are payable by the customer and are non-refundable. In the event of a defective product, a shipping error or transport damage, all costs are covered by Hernández Jiménez.
This commercial guarantee extends the legal rights that assist the consumer and in no case limits or replaces them.
